WHAT IS A BUSINESS VISA?
— a document required for entry into the Russian Federation for citizens of foreign countries who do not have a visa-free regime with Russia. A business visa is issued on the basis of a business invitation at the request of legal entities at the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Next, a foreign citizen applies to the Russian Embassy in his country and submits the necessary documents to obtain a Business visa.
In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of December 21, 2020, a certain list of PURPOSES OF TRAVELING on a business visa has been established:
– business trips
– Accompanying as a Family Member
– Performing the driver function
– Performing the function of a crew member (for foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation as crew members of sea or river vessels and ferries, as well as employees of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews on international trains)
– Foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation for the purpose of adoption (adoption) of children left without parental care
– For foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation for treatment purposes at the invitation of medical organizations
– Special correspondents temporarily accredited in the Russian Federation arriving in the Russian Federation on instructions from their editorial offices to cover certain events, as well as to replace the main correspondent in case of vacation, illness, business trips to other countries
– Foreign professional journalists (if it is provided for by an international treaty of the Russian Federation) arriving in the Russian Federation in order to carry out journalistic work
– Foreign citizens - technical employees of foreign media correspondents, arriving as producers, editors, secretaries-translators, specialists in servicing television and film equipment, communications

VALIDITY PERIOD OF A VISA:

IMPORTANT
The validity period of the visa does NOT imply continuous stay in the territory of the Russian Federation. There is a limit - no more than 90 out of 180 days.
MULTIPLICITY OF VISA:
single-entry visa - issued for a period of 1 to 3 months A foreign citizen has the right to enter the Russian Federation once during the validity of the visa. Moreover, when leaving Russia, the visa is closed automatically, that is, until its expiration date.
double-entry visa - issued for a period of 1 to 3 months.
A foreign citizen has the right to enter Russia 2 times during the validity of the visa
multiple-entry viss - issued for a period of 3 to 12 months.
A foreign citizen can enter the Russian Federation an unlimited number of times during the validity of the visa, however, the total number of days of stay should not exceed 90 out of 180 days.
TYPES OF BUSINESS INVITATIONS:
- Invitation letter on letterhead of the organizationThis invitation is issued by a legal entity registered directly on the territory of the Russian Federation and accredited by the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The invitation is then sent electronically to the embassy of the Russian Federation. On the basis of this invitation, visas can be issued for a period of 1 to 12 months.
- Invitation TELEX MFATo issue this invitation, a legal entity registered with the relevant department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation must make a request. Further, the telex (telegram) is redirected to the embassies by means of an electronic indication through special communication channels.On the basis of this invitation, visas can be issued for a period of 1 to 12 months.
- Invitation letter on letterhead of the organizationThis type of invitation is used only for a number of citizens of the EU countries, the USA and other countries with which Russia has a special agreement on a simplified procedure for issuing Russian visas. On the basis of this invitation, visas can be issued for a period of 1 to 12 months. Moreover, it is possible to apply for a visa for 2 or 3 years if there are previous annual visas from the same company.
LIST OF FORMAL PURPOSES OF VISIT:
- searching for business partners and negotiating with them;
- conclusion or extension of contracts;
- participation in exhibitions and auctions;
- conducting market research;
- installation, repair or servicing of unique equipment imported to Russia.

To obtain insurance required for obtaining a business visa, a foreign citizen must contact any insurance company. It is important to note that there is no fixed amount of insurance, as its cost depends on the company, the amount of insurance, the insurance program, as well as the age of the person. In order to find out the amount for which a foreign citizen should be insured, you should contact the consulate.

REMINDER
upon entering the territory of the Russian Federation, regardless of the purpose of the trip, all citizens are required to register with the migration authorities no later than 7 days from the date of entry. IF the trip is LESS than 7 days, registration is not required. BREACH OF THIS RULE WILL CAUSE ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITY: from a fine in the amount of 2 thousand rubles to administrative expulsion with a ban on entering the territory of the Russian Federation for a certain period of time.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR OBTAINING A BUSINESS VISA:
- business invitation to Russia;;
- international passport with two blank pages for visas and expiration date, expiring no earlier than 6 months after the expiration of the visa;
- completed visa application form with photograph;
- medical insurance;
- certificate of absence of HIV (for visas for more than 3 months).

In order to obtain a business visa, a foreign citizen must apply to the consulate of the Russian Federation located in any country (It is impossible to obtain such a visa on the territory of the Russian Federation).
