PRESCHOOL, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY GENERAL EDUCATION
Study in Russia
According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens have equal rights with citizens of the Russian Federation to receive preschool, primary general, basic general and secondary general education, as well as vocational training in vocational training programs by professions of workers, positions of employees within the limits of mastering the educational program of secondary general education on a public and free basis.
There are many public schools with subject specification, specialized schools and lyceums, but there are also many licensed schools. However, if you choose a private school, this rule will not complicate the choice of school. It is important to mention, that foreign citizens can choose a public school assigned to the territory where the child is directly registered temporarily or permanently.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENROLLING THE SCHOOL FOREIGN CHILDREN:

  • A parent's statement, which must contain the following information:

    - name, surname and patronymic (if there is) of the child

    - date and place of birth

    - name, surname and patronymic (if there is) of parents or legal representatives

    - the address of the place of residence of the child, his parents or legal representatives

    - phone numbers of child’s parents or legal representatives

  • Certificate of registration of the child at the place of stay in the assigned territory or a document containing information about the registration of the child at the place of stay in the assigned territory - required when entering the first grade
  • Document confirming the applicant's relationship (or the legality of the child's rights representation)

  • Document confirming the applicant's right to stay in the Russian Federation

  • Certificate of basic general education + an extract from the personal file from the last place of study - when entering grades 10 and 11 from another Russian school

It should be mentioned that when transferring from a foreign school, the educational institution has the right to create a commission that will determine the level of the child's mastering of the program of a certain class and make a decision on enrollment. In most cases, such a commission checks the knowledge of the Russian language and mathematics.
