A patent is a document confirming the right of a foreign citizen who arrived in the Russian Federation in a manner that does not require a visa to be temporarily employed in the territory of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
A foreign citizen has the right to carry out labor
activities EXCLUSIVELY within the subject of the Russian
Federation, in the territory of which he was granted a patent, according to the
professions (specialty, position, type of labor activity)
Documents for obtaining a patent are submitted within 30 days from the date of entry.
A patent is issued for a period of 1 to 12 months. Payment for the patent is made in the form of a fixed advance payment monthly or for a longer period. However, the patent expires if the foreign citizen does not pay a fixed advance payment for the next period.
WHAT SANCTIONS WILL BE APPLIED TO A FOREIGN CITIZEN IN CASE OF VIOLATION OF MIGRATION LAWS?
If a foreign citizen:
- works not in the region where he received a patent;
- works without a patent;
- work in a profession other than that specified in the patent;
- exceeds the period of legal stay in the Russian Federation,
then the following sanctions may be applied to him: a fine of up to 7 thousand rubles, expulsion from the Russian Federation and closure of entry for a period of 5 to 10 years.
